Meet the Team

  • Mathew Wahren

    OWNER

    Mathew started Invercargill Hose and Hydraulics in 2011. With more than 20 years’ experience in the hydraulics industry, Mathew is the go-to man to fix any hose or hydraulic need. Managing the team’s workloads, he loves keeping customers happy and travelling all over Southland to service all types of machinery.

    Outside the workshop, Mathew enjoys getting away on the boat, white baiting and heading to his holiday home with his wife and kids.

  • Craig North

    2IC

    Dedicated to customer needs and seeing repairs and servicing completed to the highest standard, Craig steadies the course of the Invercargill Hose and Hydraulics team.

    On a day off his farmlet keeps him busy enough, but sometimes it’s light work when his “operations manager” (AKA daughter) Evarnah, gives him a hand. Craig loves to get away and spend time with family and friends.

  • Mark Findlay

    HYDRAULIC TECHNICIAN

    When the workflow is steady, Mark is at his happiest. He thrives off a big to-do list and loves working on big machinery.

    Mark enjoys spending time with his kids and playing soccer and rugby.

  • Scott Thurlow

    TRAINEE TECHNICIAN

    Scott is the newest member of the Invercargill Hose and Hydraulics team, but he’s a quick study. He loves the variety of work and getting out in the van to do repairs, mastering hoses and rams, and continuously learning about the other aspects of the job.

    Most of Scott’s weekends are spent away playing sport and in various sports representative teams.

  • Jess Thurlow

    OFFICE ADIMINISTRATOR

    Jess has been with the team since 2017. She keeps the mood light amongst everyone and enjoys the banter and lightheartedness – often a welcome respite from running the operation as the team’s sole office administrator.

    On her weekends, you’ll find Jess staying active, whether it be playing netball or out and about with her husband and their four children.
